How is Adenovirus Diagnosed and Prevented?

Studies show that Adenoviruses are the cause of 10% fever-related sickness, lung infections and diarrhea. They are a group of viruses that cause infection in the tissue linings of the eyes, urinary tract, nervous system, intestines, nervous system and respiratory tract. Babies and young children are more prone to such infections.

There are other physical exams that a physician suggests to see whether the sickness caused by Adenovirus.

The diagnosis recommended:

# Swab test- In this test, a sample of mucus is collected from your child’s nose.

# Blood test- The nurse will collect the sample of your kid’s blood from his/her vein. This is the ultimate way to know if adenovirus has attacked the child.

# Chest X-ray- During X-ray, your kid will lie and a technician will use radiation to get the pictures of the chest. The X-rays help the doctor to get a better look at the kid’s heart and lungs.

# Stool test- A sample to child’s poop is collected and is sent for inspection.

# Urine test- The child is asked to urinate in a cup given by the nurse, and this will be further use for examination.

The preventions recommended:

In order to save your kids from the attack of Adenovirus, you need to opt for some preventive measures.

# Always try to keep your kids away from them who are already sick.

# Remind your child to wash his or hands during the day, and especially before eating anything. Choose alcohol-based sanitizer rather than normal soap and water.

# Keep them away from pools that are not cleaned or maintained.

# If your child is suffering from adenovirus, make them they indoors. Ask them to cover their mouth and nose while sneezing.
