Forms of Lung Cancer
There are mainly two types of lung cancers that are seen in the epithelial cells of your lungs. They are:
#Small cell lung cancer (SLCC): This type of lung cancer can be rarely seen among people. One out of five lung cancer patients endures small cell lung cancer.
#Non-small cell lung cancer: It can be seen commonly among the people. Four out of five people are non-small cell lung cancer patients. This form of lung cancer can be further classified into four types depending on the cell area or type in which the carcinogenic lungs proliferate in the lungs. They are squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, large cell carcinoma and bronchoalveolar carcinoma (BAC).
Apart from the above-mentioned two types of lung cancer, there is another form, known as mesothelioma cancer. It is not considered to be a primary type of lung cancer as its target portion is the pleural membrane covering the lung.
Causes of Lung Cancer
Exposure to tobacco, via smoking, is the main cause of lung cancer. You may be a cigarette smoker, pipe smoker or cigar smoker, you have the risk of contracting lung cancer in the three cases. Even second-hand smoking can cause you lung cancer. So, stop smoking soon to stay away from lung cancer.
