You might be craving for a long vacation to rejuvenate yourself but know that a simple and the right diet can get your tired self back on track in no time! Understand your calorie intake, as excessive of it will make you feel sluggish whereas too little will create a pit in your energy level.

* Meals on starchy carbohydrates

Include one-third of your meal with starchy carbohydrate as this will give you adequate amount of energy for you to function all day. Choose wholegrain varieties of potatoes, bread, rice or pasta because wholegrains contain fibres that make you feel full for a longer period and also, make you have a clear bowel movement.

You mostly suffer from the misconception that carbohydrates are fattening. It is not, and you just have to take care of the extra fat you are adding on to your carbohydrate, like extra butter on bread or creamy sauce on pasta.

* Consume lots of fruits and vegetables

Difficult to include five portions of variety of fruit or vegetable in your diet each day, right? How about chop a strawberry or a banana in your breakfast cereal or snack on a fresh fruit instead of on chips? A smoothie or a shake does not contain the same nutritious value as a whole fruit or vegetable, so do not drink but eat your fruit or vegetable, whenever you can.
